Please note that ALL 3 pumps for this model are in fact Waterway brand, 56 Frame, 5HP "continuous duty", (5.3HP "brake HP") and a 5HP WET END, providing 250 GPM (each!) .

When sellers "measure" HP by the term "WET END" (such as "___ HP WET END Pump") , you are being told what the capacity of the IMPELLER is. You are not being told what the "continuous duty HP" of the pump MOTOR is. THE MOTOR IS WHATDRIVES  THE WET END. The WET END has a capacity to push the water. It is DEPENDENT on the "CONTINUOUS HP" of the MOTOR. 

When a seller refers to "WET END HP" or "BRAKE HP" and OMITS the "CONTINUOUS DUTY HP" specification for the MOTOR , this skews YOUR ability to properly evaluate what you are attempting to purchase.

Many buyers are suprised ( to state it mildly) to find out (usually during ownership) that most spa sellers on ebay warranty their electronics for only 1-2 years, many with little or no labor included. This is important because electronics (controls, pumps, heater) make up the vast majority of all service issues for any tub. Our Manufacturer's Parts and Labor electronics Warranty is a full 3 years, with 5 years on plumbing and 10 on shell structure.

The Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act was signed by the President and recently enacted into law. The Act, which will be administered by the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC), imposes mandatory requirements for suction entrapment avoidance.

 

The Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act is intended to increase the safety of swimming pools and spas by motivating states to pass laws that incorporate layers of protection in order to help prevent drowning, drain entrapment and hair entanglements.

 

Safety Vacuum Release Systems provide a layer of protection against certain entrapment risks. They react to changes in vacuum (main drains and other suction pressure sources).

 

From Dec. 19, 2008, all of our spas meet and are under compliance of the VGA LAW. All of our drains have a safety vacuum release system that will reduce the risk of injury/entrapment to our valued customers.

 

The Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act is named for the grandaughter of former Secretary of State James A. Baker, III. In 2002 at the age of seven, Graeme Baker died in a spa after the powerful suction of a drain entrapped her under water. Baker joined Nancy Baker, Graeme's mother, and Safe Kids USA in a three year advocacy campaign for this legislation.

Seating/Jets: (To be edited shortly
to describe all 164 carefully placed Hydrotherapy Jets, but here is the original
configuration which is being added to with NOTHING
omitted.)

Take
a look at how many LARGE jet stations there are in this
spa. LARGE  jet stations with LARGE, valved jet
orifices create broader, more dynamic, more powerful jet patterns and correct
hydrotherapy for specific LARGE muscle groups, like those in your upper and
lower back. Smaller, immobile jets that do not spin or move can oversensetize
the skin layers and muscles in most muscle group areas. This is very important ! Compare the
number of LARGE, spinning and/or directional jets on our spas to ANY
other spas on ebay. Everything else comes up short.

We
use Waterway Jets on our spas. ALL are spinning
and/or directional and adjustable. These are the HIGHEST quality jets made
in the WORLD, which allows ALL jet bodies and faces to be covered under factory
warranty.  There are numerous companies in China who are attempting to mimic
the visual design of these jets. Guess which ones cost about half as
much. Guess which ones are falling apart prematurely. Ask other sellers here on
ebay which brand of jets they use. If they “cannot” answer, ask if the jets on
their spas "come from China or are made in China".

All of our WATERWAY (U.S. made) jets are individually valved for varied jet
"therapy" design. Nearly every jet type used
is also individually adjustable for flow level and many are
positionable.

NOT add (up to 60) "do-nothing
micro-jets" to artificially increase jet count at the expense of actual massage quality. If we thought
you wanted "bubbles", we'd throw in a family-sized can of beans! (heck, at 45 cents a piece for the

About the construction and materials:

      The "Shelter Cove" is built with incredible care. Starting with the cabinet frame built with KILN DRIED PRESSURE TREATED 2X4's (Like what's used on the foundation of your HOUSE!) to help keep the spa from changing shape due to the demands of weight, pressure, and the elements. FAR TOO MANY Spas are built using only regular 2x2's or 1x3's!!**** Because this spa is being constructed as I write this, YOU MAY 

CUSTOMIZE YOUR INDIVIDUAL SPA FROM THE FOLLOWING CHOICES

Cabinet Exterior : At  NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE CHOOSE FROM : Maintenance free "DuraTemp" Cabinet Panels in "Coastal Gray" or "Redwood" colors. (DuraTemp is a composite, maintenance free exterior material with the color layer "molded in" ; it's strong, durable and easy to own. Rated as 5x stronger than natural wood.).
Spa shell is Lucite(tm) extruded acrylic with layers and layers of hand applied fiberglass/resin backing (which should outlast ALL of us!), an extremely resilient , slip-resistant, low maintenance material made from acrylic (no more polishing every season!) which has the look of Granite and a softer feel. CHOOSE YOUR SPA SHELL to be Handcrafted in "Starry Night", "Sierra" (sandy beige), "Onyx" (Grey with gradients of Black to White) or "Caribbean Blue" (a "South Seas"  blue). Also available are Gemstone/Marble ("smooth") surface colors in "Mystic Emerald" , , "Navy" ,"Sterling Silver" and "Summer Sapphire".  "Pearlescent", "Celestial" and "Lustre" series colors such as "Mocha", "Silk", Denim and Almond Pearl and others may also be available at additional charge.  Our Plumbing:

All pressurized plumbing fittings are triple-lock fitted (Barbed, Glued and Bond-Clamped ), sealed and thoroughly water tested for a long-lasting, watertight fit. This means every pressurized, high volume connection is Glued, Barbed and Clamped, then entire system is water-tested over 24 hours. 

( This is why a manufacturer's 5 YEAR PLUMBING warranty can be included!...WE TRUST OUR WORK. )

 

Insulation and Heat retention:

Layers of Closed-cell foam are generously applied (yet leaving some “breathing area” so pumps and controls can shed heat and last longer) to insulate inside the Spa shell and cabinet interior in addition to the aplication of barrier technology for all climates (including Europe and Canada), utilizing all available heat, locking it in and conserving precious energy. While this method may be more costly for our factory, it continues to provide our customers with the most energy-efficient method of heat retention, saving money on your energy bill as compared to other attempts to properly insulate a spa.

(Our spa insulation is not "Full Foam")

Modern “Shell-Over-Cabinet” design is used here to prevent water from settling at area where shell used to "meet with cabinet" (on older “WOOD-LIP” spa designs) so that water does not SIT, (errode seal) then SEEP into interior of cabinet. Shell-Over-Cabinet design can easily DOUBLE the life of a Spa by preventing DRY ROT. ***There Is NO REASON that anyone should have to settle for the technically OBSOLETE “Wood-Lip” design. ( It’s NOT PRETTY, but I can send photos of what a “Wood-Lip” Spa looks like after 6-7 years of DRY-ROT)***

 ABS Heavy-Duty plastic bottom shield assists with keeping the elements (and rodents) out of your spa cabinet, and heat IN where it can be used.

 220V/60 amp system
100 sq. ft. DUAL "zero bypass" filters- Some sellers only use a single 50 square ft. filter. This decreases pump intake and jet flow. It also causes a single filter to collect the same amount of debris as TWO filters should -- clogging faster and causing you to clean TWICE as often. This WEARS the filter and causes replacement TWICE as often (at about $25 each!)
Freeze protection system is built in.  
Heated Air Injector Controls

      Providing this EXCELLENT MASSAGE-QUALITY pressure at the Jets is partially accomplished by using manifold style plumbing, or "longer broader curves" instead of the "old style" 90 degree hard angles in many of the "pressurized" areas of the plumbing which allows for LESS resistance and FAR GREATER FLOW. Ultimately, REAL Hydro-Therapy MASSAGE is fully achieved, while saving significant energy on your monthly bill. 

      Pumps are mounted on our exclusive "vibra-sorb" shock absorbing base and control pack fully bottom-insulated; So as POWERFUL as this spa is, it is also possibly the most QUIET in it's class.

The pool wall system is made of polystyrene foam panels
48" tall, 40" long, 4" thick, which are numbered and notched for
easy assembly in the desired pool design.

 

You can build the pool yourself and/or contract out the work
you don't want to do (see items 1-9 below). We provide the wall panel system,
polypropylene mesh, and equipment for the kit, but you'll have additional costs
(see materials list below). We usually figure costs associated w/building the
pool kit are to double cost of the kit to calculate the total cost of your
pool, which also includes:

1. Excavation (a dig plan is included).

 

2. Gravel (which needs to be placed and compacted in the
excavated area prior to setting walls panels).

 

3. Plastering the foam panels (with two coats of structural
plaster with a polystyrene mesh embedded between the 1st and 2nd coats).  The plastered panels need to cure for about
5-7 days and the panels should be sprayed or misted down with water on both
sides for the first 3-5 days.

 

4. Use 3/4" Pea-gravel for back-fill, which is placed
around the outside of the pool in the excavated area (which is self compacting
and allows the pool to be in its own environment and helps the pool to be
resistant to free active earth movement).

 

5. Pour a 4" concrete floor and ring-beam around the
top of pool along with pouring the equipment pad (saves time & money).

 

6. A small amount of plumbing and electrical is needed for
setting equipment.

 

7. Install pool coping and decking before applying interior
finish.

 

8. Apply the EVM Coating (roll-on or spray-on Elastameric
Variable Membrane) interior finish (and install pool tile border around the top
of pool).

 

9. Installation of pool equipment, establish power to
equipment pad.

A (decent)control panel can cost up to $600.00 to replace! Our manufacturer's Parts and Labor electronics warranty is a full 3 years, with 5 years on plumbing and 10 on shell structure.

Safety Vacuum Release Systems provide a layer of protection against certain entrapment risks. They react to changes in vacuum (main drains and other suction pressure sources).

a look at how many LARGE jet stations there are in this
spa. LARGE jet stations with LARGE, valved jet
orifices create broader, more dynamic, more powerful jet patterns and correct
hydrotherapy for specific LARGE muscle groups, like those in
your upper and lower back. Smaller, immobile jets that do not spin or move can
oversensetize the skin layers and muscles in most muscle group areas. This is very important ! Compare the
number ofLARGE, spinning and/or directional jets on our spas to ANY

We
use Waterway Jets on our spas. ALL are spinning
and/or directional and adjustable. These are the HIGHEST quality jets made

the visual design of these jets. Guess which ones cost about half as

micro-jets" to artificially increase jet count at the expense of actual massage quality. If we thought

to artificially increase "jet count" by adding up to
30-60 "micro jets". These are very small jets with no actual valve

style”?….Go figure!

Insulation and Heat retention:

Layers of Closed-cell foam are generously applied (yet leaving some “breathing area” so pumps and controls can shed heat and last longer) to insulate inside the Spa shell and cabinet interior for all climates (including Europe and Canada), utilizing all available heat, locking it in and conserving precious energy. While this method may be more costly for our factory, it continues to provide our customers with the most energy-efficient method of heat retention, saving money on your energy bill as compared to other attempts to properly insulate a spa.

Modern “Shell-Over-Cabinet” design is used here to prevent water from settling at area where shell used to "meet with cabinet" (on older “WOOD-LIP” spa designs) so that water does not SIT, (errode seal) then SEEP into interior of cabinet. Shell-Over-Cabinet design can easily DOUBLE the life of a Spa by preventing DRY ROT. ***There Is NO REASON that anyone should have to settle for the technically OBSOLETE “Wood-Lip” design. ( It’s NOT PRETTY, but I can send photos of what a “Wood-Lip” Spa looks like after 6-7 years of DRY-ROT)***

This is important because electronics (controls, pumps, heater) make up the vast majority of all service issues for any tub. Our Manufacturer Parts and Labor electronics warranty is a full 3 years, with 5 years on plumbing and 10 on shell structure.
