There's a total of 4.0 inches (as opposed to 3 inches with competing products) of Premium Cloud9™ 100% Visco Elastic Memory Foam with our 11.0 inch Comfort Model!
The top layer has 2.0 inches of 3.3 Cloud9™ visco elastic memory foam for pressure-reduction and comfort that quickly transcends to the firmer supportive 5.3 Cloud9™ visco elastic layer.
The third and fourth layers are two independant firmer support layers that are 3.0 and 4.0 inches thick.  One 3.0" base is a moderate density and the other 4.0" base a is firm density which allows you to choose the comfort level you prefer. Cloud9™ Comfort mattresses utilize our distinctively designed integration of 4 multiple layers that work synergistically and uniquely to provide you with the perfect balance of pressure-relieving comfort and therapeutic support. The base foam is a premium high density base 7.0 inches in total thickness, the scientifically developed Cloud9 dual support layers completely absorbs and distributes your body weight evenly while your spine is supported in perfect alignment.
The cover is premium Cotton with Expand-A-Cover stretch material, which is easily removable and washable, with a 3 year warranty.

The Cloud9 Customizable Mattress Cushion System is made from independent layers of foam and an expandable mattress pad that fits down over the top and around the sides to provide easy access for dual purpose use as needed. These independent foam layers have a dual purpose as seat cushions when used independently and as a mattress when they are layered one on top of the other. Recommendations: We usually recommend that if the person using the visco-elastic memory foam mattress pad weighs under 200lbs and they are just looking for added comfort they should get a 2" visco-elastic memory foam mattress pad, if they weigh over 200 we definately recommend a 3" visco-elastic memory foam mattress pad and for those that weigh over 250lbs the 4" toppers are the best option for pressure point relief and comfort.

The 3.3 Cloud9 visco-elastic memory foam is SUPER SOFT being less dense and having a softer compression or ILD rating. The 4.2 Cloud9 Topper is slightly firmer and provides a little more support while at the same time remaining soft and supple with a slightly more supportive compression or ILD. Our most luxurious 5.3 Cloud9 visco elastic memory foam is firmer than the 3.3 and 4.2 Cloud9 visco elastic memory foam and is more like the nationally advertised swedish foam.

The two most important factors when selecting a memory foam topper are ILD and thickness. The ILD refers to the firmness of the visco-elastic memory foam. A really firm foam like our Cloud9 Mattress Base is a 30ILD and 35ILD for extra support. For more information on foam qualities and ILD or IFD ratings visit the pfa.org website.

It's a personal preference really whether you want a softer or firmer sleeping surface. I personally prefer the 4.2 Cloud9 2" visco-elastic memory foam mattress pad and I weigh 200lbs. We do not recommend getting a 4" visco-elastic memory foam mattress pad unless the person using it weighs over 250lbs or needs extra pressure point releif and doesn't mind sinking down into the visco-elastic temperature sensative memory foam. We have found through personal and professional experience that the weight ranges that we refer to work really well with the type of pad thickness you are thinking of getting. Why spend the extra money if you don't need to.
